Welcome to the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Division of the Planning Dept. GIS is a process of taking data, relating it to geographic features, and conducting analysis on the results to answer real-world questions. We support other divisions within the Department by providing mapping and spatial analysis services. Some areas of study we conduct include population and economic trends, development and natural resources management, historic culture inventory, land use categories, and a host of analysis based on U.S. Census data.
