Residential natural gas service
The City owns a natural gas distribution system supplied by South Georgia Natural Gas Company and the Municipal Gas Authority of Georgia (MGAG). Gas Service is readily available to new and expanding customers. Residential natural gas service is available in certain areas for a tap fee according to the number of natural gas appliances served. If gas service is not available for new development, the gas department will evaluate the possibility of extending service at “no cost” to the developer.
We serve approximately 3,000 residential customers. Most of these customers reside within the Thomasville City limits. Service is also available out into to portions of Thomas County, Georgia.
If you are interested in gas service, contact the Thomasville Engineering Department (229) 227-3263 located at 411 West Jackson Street or the Thomasville Natural Gas Department (229) 227-3336 located at 944 Smith Avenue and find out if our natural gas lines are located near you.
