Applications for posted positions are accepted daily in the Human Resources Department on the second floor of the City of Thomasville Administration Building, located at 111 Victoria Place from 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday-Friday.  Applicants should take appropriate measures to ensure that completed applications for advertised vacancies are received in this office by 4:30pm on the published closing date.

FLEET SERVICES EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

 Employee in this position will be responsible for duties related to the acquisition, maintenance, repair and disposal of vehicles and equipment that make up the City of Thomasville's fleet.  Specific duties will include overseeing all aspects of the maintenance of the Fleet Wash Rack and washing and cleaning units.  Employee will be responsible for compiling a wash schedule established by Fleet Services and will also be responsible for monitoring and reordering supplies, i.e., wash wands, hoses, cleaning agents, chemicals, etc.  Other duties will include maintaining and cleaning the Wash Rack and Fleet Maintenance Facility and outlying areas located at the Davenport Campus, i.e., touch up painting, mowing, weed eating, parking lot sweeping, etc.

Must have mechanical working knowledge of vehicles and heavy equipment (operation and safety protocols for motorized equipment) and a CDL license is preferred.  Must be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers.

Starting salary is $9.30/hr.  Closing date is Friday, September 10th.
