2011 Regional Housing Fair
The Seventh Annual Regional Housing Fair will be held on March 3, 2011 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Harper Elementary School, 110 Bartow St, Thomasville.
The fair provides an opportunity for persons who are interested in buying or renovating a house to visit exhibitor booths and obtain information on housing related topics. Exhibitors will include mortgage lenders, realtors, building contractors, home inspectors and other housing professionals, representatives from city utility and other services, and various federal and state housing organizations. Workshops will be offered on relevant topics such as first-time homebuyer and down payment programs, credit, and foreclosure prevention.

Thomasville-Thomas County Homeless Coalition
A coalition representing area agencies, faith-based organizations, providers of emergency and housing services, and other community organizations meets regularly.

Southwest Georgia Housing Task Force
The mission of the Task Force is to identify and provide affordable housing solutions through community partnerships. Representatives of local government, non-profit and faith-based organizations, and others interested in housing issues are encouraged to participate.
The Task Force offers a variety of educational workshops monthly to the general public.

2009 CHIP Grant Award
The City of Thomasville has been awarded a 2009 Community HOME Investment Program (CHIP) Grant from the GA Department of Community Affairs that will benefit eligible low to moderate income homeowners in the Victoria Place Revitalization Area. The funds will be used for the rehabilitation of approximately five owner-occupied properties. The work to be performed will correct all current code violations, weatherize the house for energy efficiency, abate all lead paint hazards, and provide for handicap accessibility if needed.
Contractors who wish to bid on the work may submit a Request for Qualifications Application (RFQ), available at the City Building Inspections Department.
Homeowners who live in the Revitalization Area who wish to apply for assistance may pick up an application at the Planning and Zoning office at 413 W Jackson St.
