Thomasville Utilities Solid Waste Division has two self drop-off recycling centers for the convenience of our customers.

1300 Block of Remington Avenue (behind the Fire Rescue Station in the Butler Mason YMCA parking lot)

Recycling Services

White Goods Pickup - 3rd Saturday in February, April, July, September and December
White goods include all major household appliances such as refrigerators, stoves, washing machines, dryers and water heaters. If you have white goods you would like picked up, call Solid Waste at 227-7092 prior to the scheduled date each month. You may have up to three items picked up each month. Place your items at the curb the day before pickup and our Solid Waste Department will do the rest. For more information about White Goods Pickup, please call Solid Waste at 227-7092 or 227-4030.

Electronic Recycling
Recycling is offered as part of the annual Spring Clean week on April 10 and April 17 and again on December 18. Because electronics contain hazardous materials such as lead, mercury, arsenic and cadmium, they should not be placed with household garbage to go to the landfill. Fortunately, electronics contain recyclable materials and there are resources for reuse and recycling of electronics. Electronic items include televisions, computers, monitors, mice, printers, radios, cell phones, DVD players, fax machines and hand held devices. Recycling Events

Spring Clean
Spring Clean is held the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays in April and offers customers free disposal of residential trash. Citizens are encouraged to bring household items they would like to dispose of to the drop off site located in the City of Thomasville Engineering Parking lot at 411 West Jackson Street. Solid Waste staff will unload your items. (No contractors please) The following items are accepted: beds, furniture, stoves, chairs, electric and non-electric appliances and other bulky items (brown and white goods). We ask that you please do not bring roofing materials, oil-based products, liquids, tires, trees or shrubs to the Spring Clean events.

Bring One for the Chipper - Christmas Tree Recycling
Christmas Tree Recycling is held in conjunction with the Department of Community Affair’s Keep Georgia Beautiful “Bring One for the Chipper” program. The event date varies each year, but is usually the 1st or 2nd Saturday in January. You can support the Chipper program by bringing your undecorated, cut Christmas tree to the West Remington Recycling Center. The mulch from these trees is used for playgrounds, local government beautification projects, and individual yards. As a gift for recycling your Christmas tree, seedlings are distributed while supplies last.
